Intimate Labors: An Interdisciplinary Conference on Domestic, Care, and Sex Work
October 4, 5, and 6, 2007 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Through historical, ethnographical, cultural, policy, and labor force methodologies, this conference will address four interrelated themes: The Political Economy of Intimate Labor: States, Markets, and Families; Examining Globalization "From Below" through Intimate Labor Practices; Work Process and the Cultures of Intimacy: Beyond the Binary of Paid & Unpaid Labor; and the Politics of Space and Labor Organizing.
